I hope I'm posting this on the correct board, however, I was reading an article where they mentioned they were using an NI PCI-7842R FPGA, and stated that it had a clock rate of 80MHz. However, when I look at the specifications for the 7843 on the NI website, it sates the max clock rate is 40MHz. Is this an error on the authors part, or is it possible to "configure" the clock rate on an FPGA? Thanks for the help!

JCard,
Most R Series FPGA cards have a base FPGA clock of 40 MHz. If you want a faster clock, you can create a derived clock from the base clock. Refer to Creating FPGA-Derived Clocks for more information on how to do this.
