NI 9237 with NI 9945 quarter bridge

Hello,

I would like to use one single strain gauge to measure a tension. I know that, in order to do so with NI 9237, I need NI 9945 which contains a shumt resistor. I don't know where to put NI 9945 (if it matters).

Let's say that strain gauge will be about 10 meters far from NI 9237. I'm going to use remote sensing to compensate the lenght of a cable. So, in my opinion, I should mount NI 9945 next to the strain gauge, not next to the NI 9237. Am I right?

Should the distance between strain gauge and shunt resistor (in NI 9945) be minimized?

This is my first post.

Thank you for help!

Hi,

Never used this setup, but after quickly checking the specs, I conclude same like you. Do you experience any issues?
