NI 9025/9113 IO update rate using FPGA in Scan mode

Solved!
Go to solution

I have an old CRIO manual stating that the scan rate is 1KHz. Can the newer hardware (9025 and 9113) go faster than 1KHz?

Hello,

Regardless of the hardware it is recommended that when using Scan Mode on a cRIO to not exceed a rate of 1 kHZ.  You can find more information in the CompactRIO Developer's Guide and going through this article about using Scan Mode with a cRIO.

Page 17 in the CompactRIO's Developer Guide is going to give you the best explanation.  Anything over 1 kHz is going to have a dramatic impact on your CPU Usage.  It is recommended anytime you would like to have rates faster than 500 Hz to run the application using LabVIEW FPGA programming.
