Hello All,
Can I use Vivado to compile against the 7966R FPGA target? My setup is as follows:
Dev Machine:
Windows 7 Professional
LabView 2014 (32-bit) with RT and FPGA Modules Installed
Xilinx 14.4, 14.7, and Vivado Installed
Target Machine:
NI Real Time PXI 8133 Controller
7966R FPGA and 5791 RF Front end
Thanks!
Best,
Aditya

The 7966R uses a Virtex-5 FPGA, which is NOT supported by Vivado. You will have to keep the ISE 14.7 installed.

Hi Crossrulz,
Thank you for your response. You saved me a lot of time from continuously trying to install and reinstall the software. 🙂
Best,
Aditya

Just so you know, Vivado only works on the series 7 FPGAs and newer, like the Kintex-7. I used to have a link to show what compilers you needed for which NI boards, but the article has been deleted. Hopefully it is just being updated.

Got it. Thanks again.

Hey Cross,
That was my bad. I've been trying to make updates and something happened with the document. Here is the new link. It has the same KB ID. The url did change however.
