How to connect two strain gauges to one NI 9949

I'm have trouble understanding how to connect two half-bridge, three-wire strain gauges to one NI 9949 RJ50/Terminal connector that will then connect to my NI 9237 input module.  The 9237 manual doesn't seem very clear as to what screw terminals to use and if I should be using remote sensing or not .

Thanks,

Are you using your two half bridges to create a full bridge setup?  I would recommend you look at the connection diagram that is created in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) for strain tasks.  It is a cool feature that is not very well known.

Open MAX and create a new virtual channel

Select strain as your task

Specify the appropriate bridge type (see this developer zone article)

Click on the connection diagram tab on the bottom

This should show you exactly how to connect the strain gage wires to the pinout of the 9949

Hope this helps.
