How can I find out the assigned device number on a computer with a configured DAQ?

I have the PCI1200 on the computer. I don't have MAX on the computer.

NI-DAQ 6.5 and higher for Windows installs MAX. If you do not have MAX (Measurement and Automation Explorer), then you will have the NI-DAQ Configuration Utility.

The NI-DAQ Configuration Utility will list your board under DAQ Devices. It should also list your daq board's device number.
If the board is not listed, then verify that your installation was successful at http://www.ni.com/support/daq.
