Device is not recognized by PC

Hello,

 

I have an NI cRIO 9082 and I am having trouble getting it connected to the PC. I have set up the connection according to the instructions however I do not see the device in NI MAX or any other software. Any type of reset of the device or its IP address simply results in the 169.254.x.x address and is not recognized on my computer. I have updated all drivers and software according to my device but still I have found nothing and have consulted several forums as well as troubleshooting guides and FAQs which have all made no difference. 

 

How can this problem be resolved?

How many network connections do you have on your PC.  We just ran into a situation where MAX was trying to search for the cRIO over the wireless network card instead of the Ethernet port that it was directly connected to.  Had to do into some weird Windows 7 settings to make the Ethernet port the primary network connection.
