Re: Open Document Format Session

Hello Lovely Lock-downed LabVIEW Programmers,

I've just got the video of my template session back, if it's good enough quality I'll stick it on youtube.

I have no idea how it was received really, cos people are nice to me. But I do like these things being organic (and only publicised through this blog). I can't really explain why, I guess I'm just bad at marketing.

Hope everyone is doing well and keeping strong.

I've written before about Open Document Format

OpenDocument Format

Open Document Spreadsheet Tool
Open Document Text Document

I thought it might be useful to see it in action. I've used this a lot now.

So if you fancy another webex meeting I can go through it all. Same as last time, contact me and I'll send and I'll work out a time that suits most and send out an invite.

Again if you want the code I'll knock up a package and send it back by email.

I'm thinking early next week (week starting 27th April)

I've added the example code (LV2015) so you can play along at home

Lots of Love

Steve

It would be interesting to see how you use this so count me in for the meeting and a copy of your code if you can.

I looked at using the Open Document Format years ago but stuck with the report generation toolkit for creating Spreadsheet files. Starting to think this may be could have saved me some headaches.

Keep up the great work Steve.

OK it's going to be 16:00 BST on 27 April, get me your emails so I can invite you.

The agenda will be something like this...

Breaking down the ODF file format and resources

The technical challenges...

The Writer Toolkit (Word) - ODT

The Spreadsheet Toolkit (Excel) - ODS

Additional things I would like to do + feedback suggestions etc. <-- I think this should be an Open Source project but I can't be arsed to organise it.

I'm interested as well, depending on the time. Been messing with XML, XPATH, and open word docs (DOCX) for years and we might share some things we've both learned!

Sweet and welcome to the blog, I failed with huge memory leaks and dependencies on XPATH so would be interested in your perspective. Can you send me your email on a private message and I'll send the invite
