How to expand the bandwidth of PXIe-5673E

I have check the specifications of PXIe-5673E.

It said that Our PXIe-5673's modulation bandwidth > 100MHz.

And It also said that "The usable bandwidth is limited by the NI 5450/5451 I/Q generator sample rate from -80MHz to 80MHz.".

 It seems like that bandwidth = 0.8 * IQ sample rate = 0.8 * 200MSPS = 160MHz.

The Figure above is captured from the specification of 5673. It shows that the Bandiwidth of 5673 is 100MHz.

I 'm quite confused by these bandwidth >100MHz  , 160MHz , 100MHz.

I think actually the bandwidth of 5673 is limited to  100MHz.

My question is how to expand the bandwidth?  I think the maxmum bandwidth is 160MHz  and  maybe some component like filter make the bandwidth small.

I want to generate a FM signal with 120MHz bandwidth using 5673. I found a method in NI Talk that it can generate a 160MHz bandwidth signal with a FlexRIO.

But I don't want to use another FlexRIO.

So Is it possible to expand the bandwidth of 5673 without a FlexRIO.

(from the spec): "The shaded area between the solid lines indicates the frequency range covered by this specification."  The 100 MHz bandwidth limit is just meant to limit the specifications.  For example, the harmonics of your signal depend somewhat on the bandwidth of the signal.  Signals > 100 MHz in bandwidth (in other words, > 50 MHz away from the LO) might have harmonics higher than the specifications indicate.

The 5673 can generate 160 MHz of bandwidth with a 200 MS/s IQ rate.  The limitation here is the 5450, which has a max IQ rate of 200 MS/s with OSP enabled (the 5673 always uses the 5450 with OSP enabled).  You are correct that the max bandwidth is 0.8 * IQ rate.

I hope this helps.
