Abstract: Explore the instrumentation architecture and functionality of a high-channel-count missile test platform. Learn about functional elements including FPGA, real-time, hardware-in-the-loop, and Ethernet network application modules and examine technologies and methods such as deterministic signal acquisition, processing, and generation as well as remote operator control and feedback. Discover the challenges and benefits of CompactRIO hardware integration into a test environment that also includes VISA instrumentation, third-party software requirements, video production, and multiple user control points. Then conclude by discussing the progression from PXI-based instrumentation to CompactRIO-based instrumentation and future plans for additional testing capabilities.
