using external IRIG source

I have a PXI-6683H card in a PXIe 1085 Chassis with multiple Ballard Avonics Cards:

1 - 16 channel ARINC 429 (784803-01/LV-222-441-000)
2 - 4 channel MIL-STD-1553 (784798-01/LV-222-511-511)
3 - 32 channel ARINC 429 (784804-01/LV-222-442-442)

I want to feed my external IRIG source to my 6683H card and the Ballard cards. How can I accomplish this without losing any connections to my bus channels?

Hi Faustina, I have done a bit of searching on this matter and found this document that you can use to get started with the GPS synchronization using the 6683H  http://www.ni.com/tutorial/53314/en/  to use this with your Ballard cards you will need to consider the following:

  • Use the GPS module (6683H Timing and Sync card) to discipline backplane clock to PPS
  • Accept the signal into the Ballard card
  • Use XML editor (Ballard SW) to trigger accordingly.

Keep in mind that a couple of SW components are going to be needed here.

  • NI-Sync
  • PXI Platform Services
  • Ballard LabVIEW API
  • XMLEditor (Ballard SW)

If you have further questions about this feel free to reach out to support through a Service Request, you may find more resources to get assistance for this issue if needed.

Regards,
