Hello
I have acquired a PXI 1031 (brand new in its packaging, never installed, and forgotten on a shelf) with its PXI 8101 controller. It has never been used, and it is installed with Windows Embedded 7 Pro (non-SP1). I would like to update it so that it is compatible with at least LabVIEW 2019, or ideally LabVIEW 2024 in the future. Is this possible? I can't find exactly what I need to do on the NI website.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Literally, no, this is like you got a Pentium 4 computer new in packaging but want to install the latest and greatest software and OS.

PXI-8101 barely meets the minimum requirements of Win 10 IOT Enterprise, so I wouldn't expect to do any regular work on that,
At best 8101 is 1-core with 4GB RAM (or 1GB in the basic config)
And here are the windows requirements,
I recommend leaving the 8101 controller as such ,or put it up for sale for other legacy systems that need to continue to function with that legacy hardware.
