Re : generate clkin acquisition

Hi everyone,

I'm using a PXIe-6548 and I'm trying to use an "external clock". Well I mean, I want to generate datas and a clock thanks to this device (with onBoard clk). Then, I'd like to send this generated clock to clkin in order to acquire the datas (I don't have other generators to create a "normal" external clock and I need to use a clock I can control, so...)

First, is it even possible to do this?

Then, I try anyway but I got errors. I have the enclosed error1 and if I do it in Debug mode ("Highlight execution") I have a different error (well, I guess they're similar but they're still not the same, so maybe it's important) which is error_higlight (enclosed). Do you have any idea? (well it might be because I just can't do sth like this)

Hi,

I will try to help you.

You can with a HSDIO card import an external clok with the Clk in input. So if i am understanding well your needs, everything you said is possible.

Hi Matthieu,

Thank you for the links. I have read them but I couldn't find anything to help me out with my problem.

I'll try to be more clear. I generate datas (with clk on board) on different channels and one of this channel will be used to be the "external clk" for the acquisition, meaning I connect this channel to clkin and I configured the acquisition session with clkin as clock source.

I've attached my VI, that way you might see what I'm doing wrong.

J'ai regadé votre VI, le souci vient du fait que vous utilisez 2 tâches de même type sur la même ressource.

Par exemple, au début, vous venez utilisez le VI initiaite.vi 2 fois sur la même ressource. Du coup, c'est normal que vous receviez une erreur qui précise que la ressource est déjà réservée.

Ce que vous souhaitez faire, c'est avoir 2 clocks différentes (pour 2 groupes de voies distinctes) pour un même type de tâche.

Avec cette carte qui a un seul moteur de cadencement, vous ne pourrez que réaliser une tâche avec une horloge précise.

Malheureusement, il vous faudra arrêter la tâche, puis la redémarrer avec une horloge différente.

En espérant vous avoir aidé.

Concernant ce besoin particulier, si j'étais vous, j'appellerai le service technico commercial de National Instruments au 01 57 66 24 24 et je demanderai s'il n'y a pas des cartes qui soient capables de réaliser votre besoin.
