The PXI-4071 DMM seems to default to an open circuit after a reset. How do I get current to flow through the DMM before making a measurement? I need my circuit to be powered up and functioning so I can do some things with it before making a measurement.

Hi George,

You can close that path by calling the initiate VI/Function. Initializing the DMM and the configure Measurement VI/function do not close that path. Take a look at this document I found searching the knowledgebase for “dmm current open circuit”. Let me know if you are still having trouble.
