disk space

Hi,

I am using PXI-8186 controller and a high-speed digitized with Labview RT OS ver 7.1.  My program makes two data files and smaller text files.  When two data files become 3.99GB, the disk is no longer writable even if the HDD still has plenty of space (> 30 GB).  Does RT OS 7.1 have a certain limitation of the HDD space which can be handled?  After rebooting the pxi, the pxi HDD looks still full and a program cannot be downloaded to the pxi RT controller from a computer.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Kenny

Hello Kenny,

Take a look at this KnowledgeBase article.  You are going to have to split the files into smaller files becuase of the 2 GB of RAM limitation of LVRT 7.1

Hi Jon

Thanks for directing me to that article.  I still don't understand why the disk looked full even after the rebooting.  However, now I think that these features that I experienced are related to these issues that I have experiences are features of RT OS.

Sincerely,

Kenny
