about PXI 1010 chasis with PXI 8108RT

I have PXI 1010 chasis and PXI 8108RT controller .Is the PXI 1010 chasis and PXI 8108RT controller  is compatible ?  Can it run on Labview 7.1?

Hi ATBB,

Your PXI 1010 chassis and PXI 8108 RT controller should work fine together. However, depending on the operating system you have on the 8108 RT, it may not be compatible with LabVIEW 7.1. A list of Real Time operating systems and their compatible versions of LabVIEW can be found here. Also, according to the product page of the PXI 8108 RT, the second bullet states that it is compatible with "NI LabVIEW Real-Time Version 8.6.1 or later."

Functionally, the 8108 is just a computer. If you were to put a different operating system such as Windows XP on it, you would lose the real time aspect of the machine, but it could then run with LabVIEW 7.1.
