Whether 2A fuse in PXI-6259 is slow or fast

Hi,

We frequently encounter a loss of the 5V signal from the PXI-6259.  The option so far has been to return the board under warranty. National Instruments then changes the two 2A fuses. I have two questions.

1.  Are these slow or fast acting fuses?

2.  What is the manufacturer part number?

Due to the delay encountered in returning these boards, we would like to investigate replacing these fuses ourselves - especially for PXI-6259 boards that are passed the warranty.

I attach a datasheet for a 2A slow acting fuse which looks very similar to the one on the board.

Thanks

Anand

Thanks David,

A closer inspection of the fuse on the National Instruments PXI-6259 reveals an 'F' on the fuse.  Doesn't this indicate fast acting?

If the fuse is indeed slow blow, we can place a fast acting fuse after it in our signal path so that it blows before the PXI-6259's fuse.

Please advise.

Thanks again for your continued assistance.

Hi David,

Also, the fuse you recommend is a 3A fuse.  The ones on the PXI-6259 are 2A.  Please comment on both counts.

1.  Fast or slow.

2.  Current rating

for PXI-6259 specifically.

Thanks.
