What is the best configuration for 176MHz BPF analysis

Hi.

Basic flex-rio sampling question:

which modules can sample/generate 176MHz signal?

Thanks

Hi Yakir,

All of our FlexRIO Adapter Modules that are transmitters/transceivers are intended for RF applications and roll off below 200 MHz.  There are two digitizers that might work for your acquisition side, the 5771 and the 5772.  Also, there are two Active Technologies Signal Generators that might work for your application, the AT-1120 and the AT-1212.  I attaching links to these products below.  Hopefully this information is helpful!

How about this as digitizer? (5761)

Hi Yakir,

I wouldn't recommend this digitizer if your signal of interest is 176 MHz.  Typically you will want to be able to sample at least twice as fast as the frequency of your signal of interest to accurately measure frequency.  If you are interested in the shape of your signal, then you will typically want to sample at least 5 to 10 times faster than the frequency of your signal of interest.

Hello again,

I would like to re-ask my q:

Looking for a RF 50-176MHz transceiver, fpga/dsp based.

Are there any new/old products by NI for this purpose?

Thanks,

Yakir.

Hi Yakir,

Are you interested in doing baseband measurements or has your signal been downconverted already? Also, are you interested in sampling at 50-176MHz or acquiring at that rate? This will help determine whether we should look towards RF products or something like a high speed digitizer. Are you looking for a FlexRIO card, or will another form factor suffice? As far as RF products here are two that come to mind initially:

- NI Vector Signal Transciever: http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/210635

Note with this device that the lowest frequency is 65 MHz, which I know is outside of your specifications that you stated.

- NI USRP RIO 2940R: http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/212433

Hopefully these are helpful!

Hi and thanks for your answer,

Let me answer your Qs:

Are you interested in doing baseband measurements or has your signal been downconverted already?

I'm interested in direct sampling (and modifying) of the signal.

Also, are you interested in sampling at 50-176MHz or acquiring at that rate?

My CW is at 176MHz, so I think it would be preffered samplig at >500MHz

This will help determine whether we should look towards RF products or something like a high speed digitizer.

My application is not just for acquisition, but also for modifying the signal by its environmental errors.

I would prefer writing this controller using Labview & Labview FPGA Etc.

- NI Vector Signal Transceiver: http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/210635

This one is way over my budget per unit.

Note with this device that the lowest frequency is 65 MHz, which I know is outside of your specifications that you stated.

I don't care that the device will cover large BW, but it would be able to modify the RF signal at 176MHz in good performance.

- NI USRP RIO 2940R: http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/212433

This maybe worth to be checked.

Are there any FlexRIO stuff that may be relevant to my app?

Thanks again,

Yakir.

Hi Yakir,

Since you are interested in direct sampling, I believe the NI 5771 and 5772 FlexRIO devices are going to still be the best options for your system. Would these devices fit your application?

NI 5772

Thanks!
