Synchronizing SMU and Digtal Output with the PXI

Hi all,

This is my first time using the NI PXI system. In the system I have two devices, SMU and DAQ.

I want to send a trigger from the PXI backplane to synchroize these two device.

SMU is for driving test sample.

DAQ is for triggering measurement instrument.

Does anyone can provid some information about this for me?

Please provide information on the sequence of operations.

Example,

1. power up the device using SMU

2. Set some digital state on DAQ pins, send trigger to SMU to take a measurement

3. and so on

Also a simple block diagram or schematic would help.
