Single RF Switch properties PXIe-2593

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

I am running test automations between 10MHz and 500MHz with signal generators (SG) and spectrum analyzes (SA). To connect them to different cables I am using the PXIe-2593 RF multiplexer card.

I am running my programs with independent topology only and know which relays are used to connect my SG and SA to my DUT.

To avoid calibrations on every run I would like to safe the insertion loss between SG/SA and DUT and if possible even calculate the insertion loss of the PXIe-2593 depending on the path.

To do this I need the following information:

 1. What is the insertion loss of a single relays and do all relays have the same?

 2. Does the insertion loss of a single relays change over time/usage?

I unfortunately couldn't find these information in the data sheets.

Thank you for any help.

Best regards

Daniel

If you want to calibrate the path, you need to measure the insertion loss with your specific 2593 channels.

If NI did not publish the insertion loss of the relays, you would need to raise a technical support ticket for them to look up and answer. Sometimes, it is not even available to share.

Thank you for your reply Santo.

I reached out to the support as recommended. They couldn't solve all my problems, but could help me in some aspects.

I attached the e-mail history if someone has a similar problem.

Best regards

Daniel
