Hello,
I have a PXI-8331 card inside a PXI-1045 chassis. I need a PCI-8331 card to install in my computer but I see it is now an obsolete product.
Will installing the newer PCI-8361 in my PC be compatible with the PXI-8331 inside the PXI chassis or do I also need a new PXI card?
Please let me know so I may place the correct order.
Thanks,
Chris

The 8331 uses MXI4 while the 8361 uses MXI-Express. I don't think these are compatible.
You can usually get a small discount by getting the MXI kit:PXI-PCI8360

Are you sure? I just got off the phone with a technical support rep and he said that they are compatible... Now you got me worried, can anybody verify this?

Talked to an NI applications engineer. Its not possible to do this.
