PXIe power & voltage monitor

Solved!
Go to solution

Currently, I use PXIe-1075 chassis which connect to multiple slots. In data acquisition it didn't perform well. So I doubt that the chassis cannot supply enough power to each slot (the maximum power limit is only 140W in spec). Is there any example VI that can monitor instant slot power comsumption or slot voltage stability? Thanks!

So, by PXI specification, each slot is allocated a power and module cannot consume more than that by design. So, in short, any compatible PXI card in the right slot should function without any issue.

So, your assumption that DAQ is not functioning properly because of power limit, it may not be the case. What makes you speculate the power is the issue?

The total power limit of PXIe-1075 is 140W

There are eight PXIe-7972R (FPGA module) plugged in the chassis and would run at the same time, in the spec PXIe-7972R maximum power is 45.9W and connect to NI 5734 Adapter module(4.5W in usual), so the power may exceed the total power limit.

No, as per the specifications, you have 791W of usable power and power dissipation of system slot "controller" is limited to 140W and per slot is limited to 38.25W

I bet 791W is more than adequate to operate 8 x 7892R
