PXIe-8370 to control PXIe-1085 (24GB/s)

Hello all,

Would like to ask about particular configuration: is it possible to control PXIe-1085 (24GB/s) some sort of x8 PXIe chassis through PXIe-8370/PCIe-8371 that is x4 PXI Express Controller.  

Note: I'm aware about PXIe-8381/PCIe-8381 that dedicated for PXIe "x8" chasis, and fits better for PXIe-1085. Question trigered by interest in utilising PXIe-1085 chassis with PC that has only PCIe x4 slot avalaible.

Hi Roman,

Your chassis should be compatible with any MXI form (x1/4/8), so long as there are enough lanes on your PCIe counterpart.

On a side note, If you look in the user manual for your card (MXI-Express x4 Series User Manual), you may be interested in the data limit per lane "The link can transmit at a rate of 10 Gbps"
