PXIe-8245 Ethernet card with LabVIEW 19.1

Hi,

I want to use the PXIe-8245 Ethernet card with LabVIEW 19.1, so I installed version 19.1.0 of PXI platform services as a driver. The card is not visible in NI-MAX, so I assumed that I need a newer version of PXI platform services. Installing 19.5.0 (the latest 19 version available) showed "No operation to be performed."

Upgrading to a higher LabVIEW version is not an option and therefore I did not try the 20 or 21 versions of the PXI platform services.

What can I do to solve this?

What version of PXI platform services do I need to use the PXI-8245 card?

Where is a list which version is needed for which hardware.

Hi Tobias,

You will need to use PXI Platform services 20 or 21 to use the PXIe-8245 on Linux. If Windows OS is used, the recommended SW is PXI platform services 21.

Although NI recommends to use this device on LV 2020 (according to the datasheet), the support for LabVIEW is up to 4 years prior to release.
