PXIe-7975 FlexRIO Adapter Module Current Draw

Hi All,

I am currently designing a FlexRIO adapter module for a PXIe-7975 and need to know how much current I can draw from the +3.3V and +12V pins on the edge connector, however I can not find any documentation providing such information, can anyone help? Sorry if I am missing something obvious 😄

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

You can find out needed information in technical specifications of that device (p. 5).

Below you can find links to  ''NI PXIe-7975R GETTING STARTED GUIDE  '' and ''NI PXIe-7975R DEVICE SPECIFICATIONS''

http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/374545a.pdf

http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/373980d.pdf

Hope this helps, have a great day!

First thing's first, since you're asking questions around designing a custom FlexRIO adapter module, I assume you're using the FlexRIO MDK to do so - http://www.ni.com/product-documentation/7961/en/. The PDF included with the MDK specifically describes the available power draw and relevant concerns, so that should be consulted. The specifications listed for the 7975 backend are not the relevant specs in this case - that is the max power draw the backend itself can pull from the chassis backplane. Much of that power is used on the backend, with only a subset being provided to the adapter module. More details are in the MDK PDF.
