Hi all,
I have a question about using a PXIe-1435 Camera Link frame grabber on an NI Linux Real-Time PXI system, and I’m a bit confused about the current behavior.
My setup:
PXI Express chassis
PXIe controller running NI Linux RT 23
Frame grabber: PXIe-1435
Host PC: Windows, LabVIEW 2023 Q3
On the host PC I have already installed and used:
Vision Development Module (VDM)
Vision Acquisition Software (VAS)
What I did:
In NI MAX, I connected to the RT target and used Add/Remove Software.
I installed all available Vision / IMAQ-related components that are listed for the RT target.
Installation completed without errors.
Problem:
The PXIe-1435 does not appear in NI MAX under the RT target.
No Camera Link device is detected.
I cannot acquire images from the PXIe-1435 on NI Linux RT.
This raises a few questions for me:
On NI Linux RT 23, what do the available Vision / IMAQ packages actually support?
Do they include Camera Link frame grabbers, or only IMAQdx (GigE / USB)?
Is PXIe-1435 officially supported on NI Linux RT, or is it Windows-only?
Does installing VDM / VAS on the host PC affect Camera Link support on the RT target, or is image acquisition support entirely OS-dependent on the target?
I also have NI installation DVDs, but no optical drive. Is there any driver or component for PXIe-1435 that must be installed from the DVD, or is NI Package Manager sufficient?
I’d like to confirm whether this behavior is expected due to platform limitations, or if I’m missing a required software component.
Thanks in advance for any clarification.

PXIe-1435 is not supported on Linux RT.
