PXIe-1078 Chassis fan high

Good Day,

is there a way to find out if the auto selection for the fan is not sufficient and that the high option must be selected?

Hi,

 

I would guess that the auto mode is sufficient, I also use it and did not have any problems.

To be sure you could take a look at your device temperatures using NI MAX.

As long as you are in the specs plus some buffer I woul not worry.

Looking to this article Introduction to the New PXIe-1095 Chassis,

Table 2 said "Auto fan (up to 30 °C)".

So I think that if the temperature will be lower than 30 degree, you can set the option to "auto".

 

The fan mode is automatically determined by chassis intake air temperature.

Setting "Auto Selection" is the best way I think.

 

One my knowledge is that if you are using FGEN, you must set the option to "high".
