I have an old NI PXIe-1075 chassis used for research purposes. In the last attempt to power on it, its power supply unit suddenly broke, emitting a small cloud of smoke. Fortunately, none of the PXI devices installed in the chassis seem to have suffered damage. The PWR LED of an MXI-Express PXIe-8360 card installed in it is flashing red.
I have also a NI PXIe-1065 chassis that works perfectly and seems to have a power shuttle module perfectly identical to the broken one, but it has a number of hybrid slots that are not enough to accommodate all the devices that I previously used with the PXIe-1075.
By extracting the two power supply shuttles from both chassis I was able to verify that the internal power supply unit for both is a high-power SMPS model 231A from ROAL Living Energy (an Italian company no longer active).
My question addressed to some NI technical support engineer is: since they appear practically identical at a mechanical and electrical level, would it be possible to mount the PXIe-1065 power shuttle in the PXIe-1075 chassis for emergency purposes, at least until the damaged one is repaired/replaced?
The product codes of the two PXI chassis are: 198136B-01L REV 1.2 (PXIe-1075) and 194744C-01L (PXIe-1065).
Thanks in advance to anyone who can provide me with useful information.

If both power supply are same manufacturer PN (not NI's), then they are the same, if not, there could be some differences and hence a different mfr PN.

NI Technical Support Engineer here. There are design differences between those power supplies and the 1065 should not be installed into a 1075 chassis.

Thank you for your answer.

Thanks for the reply @santo_13; unfortunately, although I have verified that the internal SMPS of the PXIe-1065 power shuttle is exactly the same (product name and code) as the one in the PXIe-1075. @captain_K says that there are design differences between the two shuttles.
The 1065 is now the last working chassis I have and I cannot risk damaging its power shuttle.
Cheers.
