PXI-8512 error -1074388957 invalid interface

I am trying to establish frame based communications with a PXI-8512 can card which appears in NI-MAX as having two ports - CAN1 and CAN2. When I try to run the example VI with either CAN1 or 2 I get this message. I am running NI-XNET 1.6 and NI-CAN 2.7.4

Could you post a screenshot of MAX? Have you restarted the controller since installing NI-CAN/XNET drivers?

I believe you need to intstall a compatibility layer between NI-XNET and NI-CAN.  See http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/9717
