Solved!

Hi.

The PXI-8232 could not be found in the NI-MAX. But the GPIB cable  is ready and the board is active . The LED on the ethernet port is  green.

Just a sanity check, you're connecting PXI1033 over MXI to the PC and all other instruments are visible in NI MAX?

Do you have 488.2 and VISA drivers installed?

Please share the NI MAX screenshot.

Thanks. I think the NI-VISA and NI-488.2 were installed in the system. The meter of Santec could be found in the system. But  the PXI-1033 could not be found.

OMG, just realized that you're trying to control a PXI chassis over GPIB - NOOOOOOOO! that's not how PXI works, this is not a GPIB instrument.

Moreover, you've connected a USB-GPIB directly to a PXI-GPIB with a GPIB connector in between. You're able to see the USB-GPIB and the green light is from that one and PXI chassis did not even power up.

Look behind your PXI-1033 there will be an MXI connector, that needs to go to your PC to the PCI-MXI adapter, please follow the Getting Started With The System section in the User Manual.
