PXI-8176 running NI-VISA server responds with access denied to viFindRsrc.

Hi,

I have a PXI-8176 running the NI-VISA server on windows. It works over a ethernet connection using

labview on a windows computer. However, I want to program it using 'libvisa' on a linux

computer. When I call viFindRsrc (....'visa://<ip>/?*'...), it returns 'access denied'. How do I enable

access? I know that the ethernet connection works, because it allows ftp access from the

linux computer.

Hi Mike,

For security reasons, VISA server requires that you grant access permissions on your VISA server system. The following articles discus the issue further.
