Hi,
I am planning to use a PXI-2530B reed relay module in dual 2-wire 32:1 mux configuration to route pairs of wires from test points on my UUT to either the red or black jacks on a PXI-4065 DMM for 4-wire resistance measurements. Later on during testing, I will want to use the DMM in DC voltage mode to measure voltage between some of these test points with the UUT energized. For these voltage measurements, I only need to connect to the upper red/black jacks; the "second wire" in my muxes is not needed.
My question is, when the 4065 DMM is in voltage measurement mode, are the lower two red/black jacks (4-wire sense and current input) internally disconnected, allowing me to use the same mux connections and topology as I did for my 4-wire measurements? Or would leaving the lower (sense) jacks connected provide a current path, corrupting the measurement and/or drawing excess current from my UUT?
If I need to avoid connecting to the lower jacks during voltage measurements, is it straightforward in LabVIEW to switch from driving the PXI-2530B in dual 2-wire 32:1 mux mode to dual (or quad) 1-wire 32:1 mux mode mid-program?
