PXI 1042 Chassis with 8108 Embedded Controller & Kontron CP3002

Hi,

We have a chassis with two controllers installed the 8108 from NI and the CP3002 from Kontron. All the cards right now (RS-232 & network cards) in the chassis are being picked up by the NI embedded controller. Is there a way to pass these cards or be able to use these cards with the CP3002?

Hello Jeff,

I assume you currently have the 8108 in slot 1 of your chassis? As denoted by the triangle under that slot, slot 1 is the only slot of your chassis that can house as a controller - this is consistent across all NI chassis. If you want to use the Kontron CP3002 as your controller, you will need to put it in this slot and forego the use of the 8108. Since the CP3002 is a third-party controller, we cannot guarantee that it will work with our drivers, but this is the only setup that would have the possibility of working.

If your application requires the use of both controllers, you will have to use a second chassis and communicate between the two of them.
