We have a PXI-1036 chassis (15y old) which turns itself off at random moments every few days. Anybody experience with this problem or ideas? When the on/off button is switched to standby and back on after a few seconds, everything is running fine again for another few days. Since this happens also during long remote measurements, it is inconvenient.
We have a PXI-5922 running in the chassis, which has a temperature control, indicating it is always around 39 degC, so overheating is unlikely. The problem can both occur when this ADC is idle or when taking data.

Hi Pecheur,
I'm interested in the idea that this happens when both idle or when taking data. My suspicions would be temperature (as suggested), CPU or memory utilisation (e.g. a memory leak). Do you see the time until the power-off change depending on what the PXI is doing?
Can we enable monitoring for CPU and memory on the controller? You can see this article for steps on how to do this.
Cheers,
Nick
