No access to PXI-6542 after installing an update for PXI-5105 (Chassis PXI-1036DC, NI-CardBus PXI-8310)

Hello,

I am working with the PXI-1036DC chassis (driver version 2.1). Following modules are installed: NI-HSDIO PXI-6542(V1.4), NI-SCOPE PXI-5105(from V3.1 to V3.3.1, and back), NI-FGEN PXI-5422(V2.4)(didn`t work as well), NI-CardBus PXI-8310 (V1.0).

With the basic configuration the PXI-6542 (V1.4) and the PXI-5105 (V3.1) were shown in MAX (V4.2.1) under Devices&Interfaces correctly and the access-diode of PXI-6542 was illuminating. PXI-5422 wasn`t working the whole time i am working with this chassis (no diode illuminates)(but thats not a issue here).
Then I installed the update for PXI-5105 to Version 3.3.1 to be able to use its functions with LabView V8.2 evaluation version. Afore I was using LabView V7.0. After the installation of that update the PXI-6542 wasn`t found in MAX/Devices&Interfaces (the access-diod was off). I didn`t find a newer Version for PXI-6542 on this homepage. PXI-5105 was shown correctly.
Now I deleted all modules (6542, 5105, 5422, and, to be sure to get back to basic state, LabView V8.2) under start/settings/software/... and installed the "old" drivers. But that didn`t solve the problem. PXI-5105 is shown correctly in Devices&Interfaces in MAX, but PXI-6542 isn`t found and its access-diode didn`t illuminate as well.

On PC-startup Windows 2000 finds new devices but is not able to find the appropriate drivers on the driver cd.
But then, while working on the computer for a while, the access diod of 6542 illuminates, but the module isn`t shown in MAX/Devices&Interfaces. After reboot of the system the diode is off again.

- I don`t know what I could do else to make the 6542 run. I put all modules back to  the driver state that worked before but now it isn`t. What went wrong?

- Is there a newer Version for PXI-6542 available, so i can run it under LabView V8.2?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Hi WebSeb,

here are two links for the current versions of the HS-DIO and the NI-FGEN drivers:

NI-HSDIO Version 1.5.1 for Windows 2000/Vista x64/Vista x86/XP:
http://digital.ni.com/softlib.nsf/websearch/C8A716351C950EF686257299005125F9?opendocument&node=132060_US

NI-FGEN Version 2.4.5 for Windows 2000/Vista x64/Vista x86/XP x64/XP:
http://digital.ni.com/softlib.nsf/websearch/11FE0BC88AD2D5D78625729D00818574?opendocument&node=132060_US

I also added the msiBlast tool.

1. Please clean up all National Instruments software using msiBlast
2. Install LabVIEW (all versions needed)
3. Install the device drivers (CD + links)

Hope the current drivers make the devices work as expected.
