NI PXI-4072

Solved!
Go to solution

Good day to all.

Need help with the card of the NI-4072.

On the board, the resistors R262, R263, R268 are broken off. Can anyone measure their denominations and suggest them to me?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

As I were you I would send it to NI for repair, because after repairing by yourself there is no guaranty that device will work properly.

Best regards

I would not recommend attempting any repair unless NI suggests in the specification sheet.

In this case, since there was a mechanical damaged, the damage could be larger than those few resistors. NI does not or will not share their schematic or BOM to know the value of those components.

Your only option is to send it to NI for repair or buy a new one.

I don't think that the experts from NI will do the repair of this card better than I do. And I'm not asking NICK for schematics. I ask users to measure three resistors and tell me their ratings. I have already restored the conductors, it remains to find out the values of the resistors and solder them.

Hello,

I have an NI PXI-4072 that has a standard PXI connector instead of the hybrid connector. I've been unable to find if this is a custom option or if this was done for certain models. Would somebody be please clarify?

I found out the resistor values, soldered them, everything works great. Thanks to all the experts for the answers. The topic can be closed.

I would not trust the results of any further measurements on this instrument. It is now no longer calibrated and, even if re-calibrated, the accuracy of the instrument can no longer be trusted. It should be considered as never within calibrated specifications.

A common off-the-shelf resistor is unlikely to match the long-term drift specifications or other important specifications that the very tight accuracy of these instruments demand.

I'm not sure how I missed this forum post a few years ago or I would have commented to this effect at that time.

I installed all components strictly according to the diagram.

All components from the resistor rating series e96.

But how about the long term drift specifications of them? and how they impact the instruments' warranted specifications?
