Issue with PXI 6528 module

In our application we are using combo chassis ie PXI 1052 with PXI 8187 controller. In PXI slot we have inserted Pickering module, PXI 6528 and PXI 6229 respectively. In SCXI slots we are using SCXI 1125 with SCXI 1327 connector block, SCXI 1162HV with SCXI 1326 connector block and SCXI 1169.We are using PXI 6229 as communicating card. All other modules are detected by the system except PXI 6528 module.

The problems facing with the modules are as follows.

SCXI-1162HV module:

There is an error observed with the SCXI 1162HV sensing module. In the data sheet of SCXI 1162HV, it is written that for getting logic LOW, input voltage should be less than <1VAC and to get logic HIGH, input voltage should be greater than >10VAC. But when the input voltage is oscillating ~800mV and 1.75V SCXI 1162 Port I/O is toggling between 1 & 0 . As per data sheet , state should change to high only for voltages greater than 10Vac which is not happening as of now.

PXI-6528 Module

:

The PXI System is not detecting the corresponding hardware.

While booting the PXI system it is asking for drivers. The PXI system is already installed with DaqMX 7.5 and Traditional Daq 7.4.

Hello Swathy,

With digital logic, there is an undefined area between the limit for low and high where you cannot be sure what the circuitry will detect.  With the SCXI-1162HV less than 1VAC is guaranteed to be a 0 and greater than 10VAC is guaranteed to be a 1.  Between those two values is undefined.  If you look at TTL specifications, the most common digital logic, there is also a undefined area between the low and high logic states.  It sounds like your 1162HV is working correctly.

To narrow down the problem with the PXI-6528, try putting this device into a different slot in the chassis, preferably one that you know works, and try to detect the hardware.  You can also place your PXI-6229 into the slot that the 6528 is in to determine if that slot is not working correctly.

It sounds like even though the system is looking for drivers when booting up, they are already installed correctly.  Are you doing anything special when the dialog box asks for the drivers?  You might try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers to see if this takes care of the problem.  A screenshot with this dialog box in it would be helpful if the reinstallation does not help.

Hope this helps,

Laura
