Issue with PC not booting when PCIe 8360 attached to controller PXI 8360

I am using a PCIe 8360 in our Windows 7 PC and connecting it to a PXI 8360 controller in a Pickering chassis. When I connect the mxi card to the controller and try starting the PC, the PC will not boot. Has anyone seen this issue and if so, what is the problem/solution?

Hi,
When you say that it will not Boot do you mean that the PC just doesn't turn on? At what point are you able to get to?
Have you previously been able to get this to work or have there been any recent configuration changes?

We were using a 8331 system when we using a XP operating system. We are trying to upgrade the process to work with Windows 7 and we had to get a new PC with PCI express slots in order to use the 8360 express mxi. The computer does not turn on when the PCI express mxi card is connected to a controller in a pxi chassis. The PC will give a series of beeps and no output is on the monitor.

It sounds like this may be an issue with BIOS compatibility. I have included some more information below. I would recommend upgrading the BIOS to the latest version and seeing if that resolves the issue.

You should probably try the BIOS compatibility software. It works around many BIOS issues. You'll need to flip the first switch on the PCIe card and install the driver.

Hi Rebecca,
I have 2 chassic PXIe-1062Q and PXIe-1065. when i connect to PC with 1062Q via PXI-8360, it working normaly. But when i move PXIe-8360 to chassic 1065, the windows can not restart. do you have any tips.

Hi Ando,
It sounds like you might be experiencing a BIOS compatibility issue as well. The 1065 has 10 more slots than your 1062Q, so it's possible that your BIOS cannot enumerate that many PCI slots.
