How to distribute the SampleClockTimeBase signal on a PXI-1044 chassis

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello!

I have two PXI chassis very similar and they do not behave in the same way…

As you can see on the pdf-file in attachement, the two PXI chassis are PXI-1044 type. Each chassis has three NI PXI-4461 boards in the slot 2, 3 and 4. On the system 1, I am able to distribute the “SampleClockTimeBase” signal from the slot 2 to the slots 3 and 4. On the system 2, it doesn’t work!?

On both system, I am using LabView 12 and I am doing the test using the example vi called “Analog Input-Synchronization.vi”. The vi can run correctly on the system 1 while an error -89136 occurs on the system 2.

I have no idea what to do to make the system 2 working…

I thank you in advance for any help.

Best regards,

Frédéric

Hi Ov_metas,

You're problem has been resolved in intern, but some people might be interested to know the solution.

Since 2005 we have what is called standard and hybrid cards. On hybrid cards, the connector J2 has changed:

Since, it is not possible anymore to share the SampleClockTimebase:

The only way to do that is to use the 10MHz backplane clock of the PXI chassis.
