Drivers for NI PXIe-8135 Embedded Controller

Hello All,

I'm having issues trying to install drivers for the 8135 embedded controller. I tried downloading the drivers from the below link, but I'm still stuck with PCI Data Acquistion and Signal Processing Controller, 3 PCI Device, and an unkown.

http://www.ni.com/download/ni-pxie-8135-peripheral-drivers-1.0/3452/en/

Any help is appreciated. I've been banging my head on this all day.

Thanks,
Curt

Hi Curt,

Are you trying a fresh install of the OS on your controller? If so, what operating system? When you say you are stuck with PCI Data Acquistion Controller, 3 PCI Devices, and an unknown, could you explain a little further what you mean? Is the download failing? Or are things not installing once you download the .exe file?

Thanks,

Hi Will,

I'm having to use a custom image due to security requirements(group policies), The OS is windows 7. The provided drivers from the posted link I assume are not all the drivers or not the correct ones for the PCI devices. I tried the chipset but didn't help either.

Hopefully, the attached picture will provide some insight. Does this help?

Thanks,
Curt

Curt,

According to the download page, that should include all the necessary drivers the controller needs after installing the OS. Did you download with the NI recommended .exe downloader? Just curious, have you tried to use any of the PCI devices or tried restarting the controller after downloading all the drivers?

Hi Will,

I used the standard downloader. These machines don't have internet access for downloading drivers as they are in closed lab environment. I have tried to restart it. Could you expand or PCI device route? I'm fairly new to the ni devices.

Thanks,
Curt

Hi Curt,

Typically, PCI and PCIe devices need NI-DAQmx. Do you know if you have any specific PCI devices? You can try installing this driver as well, and also check the readme to see if your PCI devices is supported on this version.

NI DAQmx 15.5: http://www.ni.com/download/ni-daqmx-15.5/5901/en/

NI DAQmx 15.5 readme: http://download.ni.com/support/softlib//multifunction_daq/nidaqmx/15.5/readme.html

The link you provided is for WXP and W7 drivers, NOT W10.

I'm also having issues with W10 and NI does not have a link for that.

specifically:

ACPI\VEN_NIC&DEV_7018

The info is here:

Re: PXIe-8135 unknown device in device manager Win10

Hi there,

This link might help you solve this: Yellow exclamation mark in device manager .

The two devices are the NI Watchdog Timer and the NI Trigger Router. These yellow signs/unknown devices can be resolved by pointing the Windows Device Manager to the specific driver.

The drivers for these are included in here. When these are installed, right-click on the device, navigate to the driver tab, click update driver, select "Browse my computer for driver software" and enter the location of the downloaded INF files. The NI Watchdog Timer is NI 7018 and NIC 7019 is the NI Trigger Router.

Hope that resolves the issue!
