Combining MXI-4 with 665x

Hi there

This is my setup:

Master PXI-Chassis:

- Holds PXI Controller in Slot 1

- 18 Slots

- Several Modules 

Slave PXI-Chassis:

- NO PXI Controller

- 18 Slots

- Several Modules 

Now this is my question:

Can i combine data transfer with synchronisation? I mean, can i use MXI-4 connectors (PXI-833X) with NI-Sync (PXI-665X) at the same time?

I need to synchronize PXI_CLK10 and SampleClock and share PXI_STAR trigger lines between the modules in both chassis while using ONE SINGLE controller.

Is this possible?

Hi chris,

what you are trying to do should be possible. Please see e.g. this tutorial: High Channel High Performance Multi Chassis System

As you can also see in this post, you will need a master 665x module and a slave 665x module in order to synchronize the various PXI lines.

As is referenced in the post above, the KB 2WF8F22L gives a good overview of synchronization techniques.
