Cable Pinouts

Hello,

I am looking for pinout's and color code by pair for the following cables: 782417-03 and 779038-02. I need to confirm which wires inside are which color and connect to which pin on either end. Also to see if/how they are grouped and/or twisted. I am running from one PXI card to another, then to a switch card and back out to a DUT Tx and Rx. I need to know if I can use these cables, or if I have to just order the connectors and do my own discrete wiring. Thank you.

Hi,

I have attached a few links that should help provide a bit more information for the cables. The first cable did not have any pinouts available, however, I was able to find some information on compatible PXI cards. As for the second cable, I think that you are looking for the LFH200 information so those are included below.

782417-03 Cable Info: http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/212026

779038-02 (LFH200 Dimensional Drawing and Cable Installation):

Hopefully this helps!

Hi Megan,

That was perfect for the 200-pin. Another NI person sent me some additional info on the 160, so I now have the pin-out of which d-sub ends up with which pins from the other end, but still need to know whether or not the wires inside are twisted pairs or not. Can I assume that the colors on the flying lead cable are the same as the (4) 50-pin d-sub cable? The two PXI cards I am using this cable with are the 2526 and the 2576.

Best Regards,

Kris

Hey Kris,

I looked into the 160 pin cable and it seems like the wires inside are not twisted pairs. As for the colors, they should be the same.

I did a little digging into the compatibility for the PXI cards and the cables and this is what I found:

160 pin should support the following:

  • NI PXI-2510
  • NI PXI-2520/1/2/3
  • NI PXIe-2524/5/6
  • NI PXIe-2737/8/9

200 pin should support the following depending on the configuration used:

  • SH200LFH-4xDB50F-C—Recommended for use with the PXI-2569/2570/2571 or SCXI-1169.
  • SH200LFH-4xDB50F-S—Recommended for use with the PXI-2575 or SCXI-1175.
  • SH200LFH-BARE WIRE—Recommended for termination other than 50-pin female D-SUB.

Hi Megan,

Thanks for the info, I have one more cable, I missed it earlier, your latest reply got me to find the error on my end. For the 2576 card, I need to use p/n 780009-01. Can you send me the pin out of each end and pairing/color scheme for that as well?

Best

Kris

Hey Megan,

That is a great help, last question, are they twisted pairs or no? I am assuming no.

Hey Kris,

I couldn't find any information verifying it was twisted pair so I would assume not.
