4...20 mA measurement using PXIe-4302 and TB-4302C

Dear all,

I'm planning to measure multiple analog current signals from different transducer using the PXIe-4302 with the TB-4302C. I found the pictures below in the two manuals of the devices but still confused regarding the wiring.

e.g inlet 0 and a loop powered transducer

- VSUP = 24 VDC

- AI0 = Sensor power supply???

- AI0+ = Sensor output???

- AI0- = ???

- AI GND = GND (Common for Port 0...3)

- AI Sense = GND (Common for Port 0...3)

Can someone support me in the question? As well as how to change the wiring for a three-wired current transducer. What is the external bias resistor for and do i have to integrate one?

Thank you

Hi,

@Steve_21: Can you make it more clear what your questions are ? Now it seems that everything is a question !!

@kanvas: A typical value is 250Ohm for the whole loop. Normal range is from ~50 - 500 Ohm. But typical used values are 50 and 250 Ohm. The 250Ohm is also used to support HART communication.
