Project Information

Project Title:

Haptic Perceptron

Hardware & Software Used:

MyDAQ, Utlrasound range finders, vibrating actuators, LabView 2013

What challenge/problem are you trying to solve through your application:

Solving the Vision problem for blind, by providing a system having vibration actuators which are mapped to the ultrasound sensors.

How does your application solves the above mentioned challenge/problem:

The mapping of the vibration must be tuned to perfection, so as to not cause any

discomfort to the user, and also to filter out cluster in an outdoor environment.

CAN ALSO BE IMPLEMENTED ON A WIDER SCALE FOR GIVING A BLIND

PERSON THE ABILITY TO RIDE A CYCLE, DRIVE A CAR USING THIS VISION

TECHINQUE ,WITH LONG RANGE SENSOR MOUNTED ON VEHICLES.

Description of Project:

This systemis intended to be a wearable system , light weight and efficient

system. This system maps the surrounding environmental changes on the

body the user, similar to the effects used by Bats. This ability of sensing the

obstacles move and change in environment can put to certain applications

such as vision system for users with vision disorders including the disorders

of blindness and depth perception
