Project Title:Controlling The Robot by gesture recognition in LabVIEW

Hardware & Software Used: LabVIEW,

                                              NIDAQ,

                                              Atmega8 micro controller

                                              Robotic arm,

                                               winavr,

                                              HID bootloader.

What challenge/problem are you trying to solve through your application: It simplyfies the inputs required to control the robot.So far robots were controlled by analag inputs like light,sound, heat,etc. All these controls are resistricted by user limitations like intensity, threshold.Operators without Programming knowledge will be difficult to control Robots without users manual.

How does your application solves the above mentioned challenge/problem: Gesture recognition doesnt have any limitations. LabVIEW VI which i have created records motion of the user.The Position of hand, its change in direction and speed of movement is recorded in XYZ scale.For example:every time when a presentation is made, the lecturor has to stay near the laptop inorder to change the slide.whereas by this method, the lecture's hand gesture is enough to change the slide or control the cursor from the place where he stands.

Description of Project: In my project i have used NIDAQ tool to recieve hand gesture.LabVIEW software converts these gestures into digital variable.Atmega 8 micro controler uses these data to drive the motors interfaced with it.Hand gestures recieved can be used to control any pheriperal devices interfaced with it.
