Veristand model parameters

I have static data that needs to be set in my model for each simulation. .  Is there any benefit to using "parameters" in my veristand model versus imports that I would set using api calls before starting the model.

Model parameters are update on demand while imports are passed to the model each time it executes. So I would still use model parameters, as it can save some system resources.
