I am planning to build a positioner system with Arduino and stepper motors(such a this one https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Free-shipping-factory-sale-100x200mm-ball-screw-motorized-X...).
I have also stepper motor drivers to control motion. I am in dilemma using PWM channels or digital channels of the Arduino because I am not sure how can I count PWM signal.
In other words, I know that I have to send a number of 0s and 1s to the stepper motor driver. But I am not sure how can I send an exact amount of on and off numbers with Arduino PWM channels. In addition, I think it's going to be about 50 microns with the positioning accuracy.
Do you have any suggestions about the issue? What are the advantages and disadvantages using these two digital and PWM channels for this purpose?
