about making a ivi driver

i want to make a ivi drive with GPIB interface,what should i do for state caching? i think i don't do this
through scpi command,and to some old instrument with GPIB interface ,it seems it couldn't make a ivi driver, doesn't it ? And how could i do ?

The only way to develop an IVI driver is with LabWindow/CVI and if you have CVI, there is the manual "Measurement Studeio LabWindows/CVI Instrument Driver Developers Guide" that will explain just about everything you need to know.
