Hi everyone,
I use an 4071 DMM to measure the voltage of an open circuit, to be shure that all of my relais are opened and no voltage is at the dmm. I expect a value close to zero. Sometimes I measure some mV and sometimes Teststand returns "NAN". What could be the reason for it? Any suggestions? What is the normal case the get the result "NAN"?
Thanks
Christian

The NaN is typically an over range condition. Something you need to be careful about with measuring opens is if there is any capacitance, the charage has nowhere to go. So the voltage will just sit there. Make sure there is a large resistor or something to bring the voltage down.
