VBAI TestStand steps in TestStand 3.5

The ts_vbai_all.zip available for VBAI 3.x is only compatible with TestStand 4.x.

Could it be possible to get the NIVBAITestStandSteps.ini palette in TestStand 3.5 ?

Could you confirm that there is still actually no way, using VBAI TestStand steps, to address two CVS in the same sequence.

You are correct, VBAI can only connect and inspect one target at a time.

Thank you Corbin for your answer.

Is there anything planned at Austin to allow driving more than one CVS with TestStand and VBAI steps?

Hi Jean,

Just to give you another idea you can communicate with more than one by first closing the interface with the other.  In other words you can open communication with CVS#1 and do what you need to do.  Once you are done close this interaction and now you can open communication with CVS#2.  If you need a little help understanding how you might do this I would suggest taking a look at this example.  Custom Vision Builder AI Inspection Interface using LabVIEW and ActiveX   In this example they open communication with VBAI through ActiveX and close it once they are done.  This might help you get started in your application.

Adam,

Your solution cannot be used in my project.

There are two CVS driven by VBAI and both CVS are doing inspection in parallel.

On CVS is for functional test and the other one is for packaging test.

As TestStand can handle parallel threads, it should be possible to have two inspection sequences using VBAI steps running in parallel.
